A Dream is Born
I graduated with dreams of working in marketing and fashion. But life had other plans. Covid-19 came, and with it came layoff after layoff. Everything started to feel hopeless. Yet in the middle of all that uncertainty, I held onto one dream – to start something of my own. Something where I could make the decisions and create something that felt right in my heart.
A rusty frustration became the beginning
The idea first came to me on a beach by the Mediterranean sea. As always, I was wearing my jewelry – for me, it’s part of who I am, something I never want to take off. But time and time again, I was disappointed. The jewelry couldn’t handle water; it tarnished, rusted, and lost its shine.
I was tired of it. I wanted jewelry that lasts – jewelry I could wear every day, everywhere. How do you make jewelry that’s… waterproof? That thought stayed with me until I found the solution. After many days and a few sleepless nights, I discovered it: Stainless Steel. Unlike traditional brass jewelry, Stainless Steel doesn’t tarnish or lose its color – and it’s waterproof. That’s how House of Nori was born.
In Sweden from the start – the journey from the living room to a professional warehouse
There I was – excited but terrified – packing every single order by hand in my living room. Jewelry boxes filled every corner of the apartment, and my days turned into endless packing sessions, from early mornings to late nights.
Eventually, it became impossible to keep up – there were simply too many orders for me to handle on my own. So, I took a big leap and moved the entire business from my living room to a warehouse that could help pack and ship everything. That was a milestone – the moment it shifted from feeling like a hobby to becoming a real company.
